Is Tom partially or fully open and does the thermostatic radiator valve continue to make noise? This is due to one of the following reasons:
- The pump speed of the boiler is set too high in relation to how many radiators are open. Set the boiler pump speed lower on the boiler itself.
- The thermostatic radiator valve, the piece on which the Tom is placed, always has an arrow for the direction in which the water should flow. The hot water should flow up towards the top of the radiator, the cold water should flow away from the radiator at the bottom. The following two situations can occur in which the water flows in the wrong direction. In both situations, an installer must solve the problem.
- The pipe that flows to the radiator valve at the top of the radiator is colder than the pipe at the bottom of the radiator. Somewhere in the system the pipes are installed the wrong way around.
- The thermostatic valve itself is installed the wrong way around. The arrow then points down or away from the radiator.
