If another zone does have heat demand, hot water will flow around. If the zone does get warm without heat demand, the radiator valve may not be closed completely.

Tom and Floor calibrate every time they close the radiator valve or underfloor heating. Then recalibrate Tom / Floor and make sure it is properly tightened:

  • Open the app or the web interface (connect.plugwise.net)
  • Set the temperature higher than the measured temperature so that that zone starts heating. Wait up to 15 minutes before Tom / Floor opens (the pusher is fully retracted).
  • Now check whether Tom / Floor can be further tightened.
  • Set the temperature lower than the measured temperature so that that zone stops heating.

Do you notice that the radiator valve or underfloor heating is still not closing properly? Wait a few hours before you can say this with certainty, the radiator or floor must first be given time to cool down. If the Tom or Floor does not close properly, you can increase the pushing force:

  • Open the app or the web interface (connect.plugwise.net) and go through the menu to Layout> Devices> the Tom or Floor that does not close properly> Advanced settings. Select a High or Extra high thrust and click save. Wait at least an hour so that the setting is adjusted on the Tom / Floor. The next time the Tom / Floor moves from an open position (room heated) to closed position (no heat demand), a higher push force will be used.
