Sometimes it can happen that the firmware of a Tom/Floor is not updated. Especially if the Tom is on batteries, the update will be slower and there is a greater chance that the update will fail.
The following actions can help to ensure that the update is sent and that it is fully sent to the Tom/Floor:
- Restart the Tom/Floor by removing and reconnecting the power. Tom/Floor will ask for an update again.
- Temporarily move the Tom/Floor closer to the Adam. This improves the signal quality and reduces the chance that sending the update fails.
- If Tom is on batteries, remove the Tom from the network, insert a micro-usb cable into the Tom and add Tom to Adam. Tom is now a router and can send data faster, so an update is faster. When Tom is updated you can replace the micro-usb cable with batteries, Tom will then automatically go from Router to SED (Sleepy End Device). Check if Tom has become an SED.
